Boom whackers and a xylophone in Katri's class

We really enjoy our music classes "colour strings" with Katri.

Today she showed us how to make music with boom whackers (and with a xylophone)!

We love clapping rhythm patterns too.

The Robin

Lovely poem and artwork from Room 3

The Lonely Dragon

For our drama lesson we are doing The Lonely Dragon.
We are the villagers afraid of the dragon.
Here we are drawing the dragon.
We can't wait to find out what happens next in our story..
We had lots of fun pretending to work in our village as the dragon flew overhead, and we really enjoyed our trip up the mountain to make friends with the dragon, and the preparations for our village party for the mayor's birthday.
We really enjoyed being part of the story of the Lonely Dragon!

Frogs

We are learning all about the life cycle of the frog.
Today we made some lovely frogs in art.
We painted the paper plates, teacher cut out the arms, legs, tongue and eyes and we put them all together on our frogs.  Each one looks different.  They are so cute!

Valentine's Day art

We made Valentine persons, cards and bookmarks for Valentine's Day.

African huts

 An African Hut
We are learning all about Africa at present. We made these huts as we saw some pictures of some African huts. Firstly, we painted a toilet roll yellow. Then we cut out a circle brown (for the roof).Teacher showed us a clever way of turning our circle into a cone. Lastly, we glued on the paper roof and covered it with straw. A big thank you to Conor's dad for bringing in the straw to us. We were also able to use it in our nativity crib. Erika's mum will be coming in to us tommorrow to tell us some more about Africa.

Valentine's candle holders and stain glass hearts

We have made some lovely heart shaped candle holders for Valentine's day.
First we rolled our clay into spheres,
Then we pressed the cutter onto the spheres, pressed in the tea light and took away the unnecessary clay.
We left our candle holders on the window sill to dry.
We will paint them later.
Meanwhile, after talking about stain glass windows, we decided to make our own stain glass hearts.
They look gorgeous!
Here are our finished Valentine's gifts.
We hope our parents like them.
