Fun Halloween art

We did lots of fun Hallowe'en art this week. We painted our clay pumpkins, and we made stuffed ghosts using cotton wool!!!

Clay pumpkins

We used clay to make pumpkins today. We are going to leave them to dry over the weekend and next week we will paint them. We had great fun rolling the clay into the shape of a pumpkin!

Room on a broom

We love the story "Room on a Broom".

Today we used our voices and instruments to add sound effects to the story.

This was a lot of fun!

 After adding all the sound effects we went for a ride on our own broomsticks, and we had a chat about what the witch could do if she had no friends to help her out.

 You should have heard all the wonderful suggestions.

We would all have made splendid witches ourselves!

Dance

We are getting really good at the mirror dance. We are having great fun with dance at the moment. We love the mirror dance.
Teacher sprinkles magic dust on our legs, arms, shoulders, heads, bellies and feet. This wakes up our bodies and helps every part of our body dance.

Absorption patterns

Last we talked about absorption, things that take in water. We also talked about things that keep water out. Teacher helped us fold tissue paper into a neat square. We put food dye into water and then watched the tissue paper soak up the water. It made a fantastic pattern!

H says "h" as in hedgehog

This week we are doing the letter H. We look for lots of things around the room that start with the letter. We spotted the fantastic hedgehogs we had made.
